Getting Help - Googling to Find Solutions to Your Problems
Are your online searches turning up so much garbage. Here are some tips to make online searching easier.

This site is devoted to Windows based PCs, specifically Windows XP computers. Visit a MAC site or a Linux site for other assistance.

Home >> Getting Help for Greater Woes >> Googling to Find Solutions

There are innumerable computer geek sites out there with loads of solutions, advice, and computer helps articles. Finding the one webpage that addresses your specific problem might be a challenge, but Google makes it substantially more likely that you can do it.

As with searching the Microsoft Knowledge Base, you want to be very specific with the search terms you use. When your terms don’t generate what you think they should, try new terms or eliminate more generic terms. Google is especially useful for finding answers to software conflicts. This can be a time consuming process, but when you’ve tried tech support for the software, your computer, or any other possible support desk you’ve tried calling, you’ll find yourself back on good old leg work…or in this case finger work, to find a possible solution. Sometimes that’s the only way you’ll discover that a particular piece of software causes a particular problem. The manufacturers won’t tell you, but the guy who had the same problem and figured it out sure will.
